The Blue-Cloud 2026 and FAIR-EASE projects have solidified their collaborative efforts through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Represented by Pasquale Pagano, Institute of Information Science and Technologies (CNR-ISTI) and Alessandro Rizzo, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), respectively, this agreement aims to strengthen our partnership in advancing FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data practices.
The MoU was signed during a three-day event that brought together the Blue-Cloud 2026 consortium and more for the Blue-Cloud General Assembly and the Blue-Cloud First Federation workshop. The occasion provided a platform to align strategic objectives and reinforce collaborative efforts internally, and across the two projects.
This collaboration brings together two Horizon Europe initiatives that focus on improving data accessibility and fostering interoperability in research domains. By working together, Blue-Cloud 2026 and FAIR-EASE are set to address critical challenges in marine and Earth sciences through shared technical infrastructures, Virtual Research Environments (VREs), and community engagement activities.Ā Together, our projects have the potential to influence data-intensive research in the future by making it more impactful, reproducible, interoperable, and accessible than in the past.
