After careful consideration, and in light of the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, it was decided to postpone the first in-person meeting of the IOG-Forum (22-24 April 2020) to take place instead on 9-11 December 2020 in Brussels. It will also include the high-level plenary and meetings of the TWGs.

The International Ocean Governance Forum (IOG Forum) provides a platform for ocean actors and stakeholders within and beyond Europe to share understanding, experiences and good practices on ocean governance.

The IOG Forum supports the further development of the EU policy on international ocean governance: an agenda for the future of our oceansThe IOG agenda brings 50 cross-cutting actions to ensure clean, healthy, safe, secure and sustainably used oceans. It is an integral part of the EU Green Deal and the EU’s response to the 2030 Agenda, in particular, the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14 Life Below Water.

To maintain momentum for international ocean governance, the IOG-Forum Thematic Working Groups (TWGs) were launched via online webinars between the 22nd and 24th of April, when the meeting was originally intended to take place.
