ELIXIR-MGify
ELIXIR is an intergovernmental organization founded in 2013 that unites life science resources—databases, software tools, training materials, and cloud storage—from across Europe into a single, coordinated infrastructure. The European Nucleotides Archive (ENA) and the MGnify platform are two of those free, public resources hosted by EMBL-EBI, which are part of the federation of the Blue-Cloud DD&AS.
Types and number of datasets
MGnify results can be accessed via Application Programming Interfaces (API) which largely follows the JSON:API specification.
Discovery and Access Mechanism
MGnify results can be accessed via Application Programming Interfaces (API) which largely follows the JSON:API specification.
Data Access Policy
Most of the data contained in MGnify is open access, under the same licensing model as the ENA
Function in Blue-Cloud
The focus for the Blue-Cloud DD&AS federation will be on the output of the MGnify JSON:API. Furthermore, focus will be on possible mapping to the BlueCloud DAB common metadata profile, as well as looking into the use of controlled vocabularies, which might have to be more semantically enriched for supporting the semantic brokerage.
