Code Blue Hackathon
The Code Blue team is organising the Code Blue Hackathon, a dynamic 40-hour event aimed at fostering innovation and developing cutting-edge solutions in the fields of biotechnology, marine science, and industry.
During the hackathon, researchers will have the opportunity to collaborate and run analyses across three key focus areas:
- Biotechnology: Innovations in marine biology, sustainable fisheries, bioprospecting, or marine conservation.
- Science: Data-driven solutions for marine science, environmental monitoring, or applications in the marine industry.
- Industry: Novel business models that promote the sustainable use of ocean resources, eco-friendly maritime industries, or the development of blue economy startups.
What you can gain from the Code Blue Hackathon
- Personalised mentoring on marine science, data analysis, software tools, and ideation.
- Access to a curated repository of resources, including specific challenges to tackle.
- A program designed to foster social and community engagement, introducing participants to local stakeholders and real-world challenges.
Blue-Cloud's involvement in the Code Blue Hackathon
Blue-Cloud supports the Code Blue Hackathon by providing a dedicated Virtual Research Environment (VRE) for all participants. This virtual space allows researchers and innovators to test and conduct in-depth analyses within biotechnology, marine science, and industry sectors. By leveraging Blue-Cloud's VRE platform, teams can access to high-quality datasets and analytical tools, enabling them to explore and develop breakthrough solutions for the blue economy, ultimately driving innovation in sustainable marine practices.
