The Aquaculture Europe 2022 is an annual event that aims to facilitate discussions around challenges and solutions to develop a sustainable, responsible, productive and climate-neutral European aquaculture sector. In particular, this year's event focuses on understanding how the European aquaculture sector can contribute to reducing climate change and negative impacts on the coastal and marine environments, such as sea acidification, sea-level rise, coastal erosion, and all water bodies that can be affected by flooding, eutrophication and pollution, with important effects on ecosystem services, fish and shellfish stocks and food security.
The participants in the event get the opportunity to bring forward these discussions through parallel sessions and ePoster presentations.
The event takes place in Rimini, Italy, from 27 to 30 September 2022. The city is the Italian province with the largest number of Blue Economy businesses, where tourism, fisheries and aquaculture are the most prevalent sectors by number of blue jobs.
