Luciano Gaido is Director of Technology at the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN). He has 30 years of international experience in research environments related to distributed computing and in the last decades he was the national responsible for the INFN contribution to several Grid and EOSC related projects. He was a key player of H2020 INDIGO-DataCloud (2015-2017), a 26-partners project targeted to multi-disciplinary scientific communities and to resource providers, which developed innovative open source computing and storage solutions, deployable on heterogeneous, hybrid distributed infrastructures. Luciano was an active contributor to the H2020 EOSC-Hub and EOSC-Pillar projects and is currently contributing to EOSC Future. He chairs the ‘Projects and EOSC’ Working Group of the INFN Steering Committee for the National Computing Coordination. Luciano holds a master’s degree in physics from Torino University (1988).
