OPENCoastS creates an open infrastructure in which users register and insert data, which are used to build forecast systems that address societal issues, like water economy, contamination events and risks in the coastal areas.
OPENCoastS assembles the circulation forecast for selected coastal areas and keeps them running operationally for a period defined by the user. This service generates daily forecasts of water levels, vertically averaged velocities and wave parameters over the region of interest.
The potential synergy between Blue-Cloud and OpenCoastS is linked to the opportunity to create a gateway between the 2 infrastructures and in this way exchange data either way from and to both projects.
OpenCoastS will support the development of the Strategic Roadmap to 2030 Blue-Cloud is working on.
